In 2023, strides were made in achieving gender parity, yet the progress fell short. The year witnessed the highest recorded proportion of women CEOs appointed to major indices, reaching 12%—a joint record with 2022.

Notably, the Euronext 100 and ASX 200 indices led with a 25% representation of women CEOs, while the Hang Seng and FTSE 100 followed closely at 20% and 19%, respectively. Conversely, the DAX 40, CAC 40, Nikkei 225, NIFTY 50, and STI reported no women CEOs appointed in 2023.
