He co-founded London-based management consultancy, Group Partners, facilitating strategic planning workshops, conferences and forums and was a founder member of the MAC Partnership (Managers, Academics and Consultants) delivering client co-creation programs. Dr. Michael Chui is a partner at the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey's business and economics research arm. He leads research on the impact of information technologies and innovation on business, the economy, and society. Michael has led McKinsey research in such areas as Big Data, Web 2.0 and collaboration technologies, and the Internet of Things. Michael is a frequent speaker at major global conferences, and his research has been cited in leading publications around the world. His PhD dissertation, entitled "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For: Web Searching as Query Refinement," examined Web user search behaviors and the usability of Web search engines. Ilaria Maselli is a senior economist for Europe. Her main area of expertise is the analysis of labor markets, in particular their interaction with education and technological change. Previously, Maselli was a research fellow with the Brussels-based think tank the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), where she co-authored “The Impact of the Collaborative Economy on the Labour Market” and “Five Things we Need to Know About the on-demand Economy.” She is also one of the authors of the recently published book Let’s Get to Work! The Future of Labour in Europe and developed ground-breaking research on the gig economy. She is also an expert in the macroeconomic performance of the Euro Area. She has worked on several studies for the European Commission on the possibility of creating a European unemployment benefit scheme as a solution to improve the architecture of the economic and monetary union. Maselli holds a master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Bologna and undertook further training in economics at the University of Leuven.
