Stanton Chase: Creating a High-Trust Corporate Culture

In a recent article Stanton Chase discussed the different stages of trust within an organization’s culture. They find all organizations function within one of three “trust-stages.” The stages range from a state of trust, state of distrust, or intermediate state. It is the role of leaders to foster an environment where people have a state of high trust.

A state of high trust allows individuals to perform at maximum potential.  In order to invest their trust in a leader, colleagues must feel the following five things:

  1. Personally safe
  2. Informed
  3. Respected
  4. Valued
  5. Understood
