Sheffield Haworth Webinar: A Step Change For Disability in the Workforce?

Sheffield Haworth will be hosting a webinar on how Covid-19 has created new opportunities for people living with disabilities.

They will welcome an esteemed Panel of speakers, moderated by Tim Sheffield, Executive Chairman at Sheffield Haworth to talk about whether there has really been a step-change to attract this dynamic talent pool since the start of the pandemic.

Srin Madipalli - Serial entrepreneur and ex-Head of Accessibility Airbnb, ranked 8th most influential person in The Shaw Disability Power 100

Srin’s wealth of experience includes completing an MBA at Oxford, working as a corporate lawyer in a Magic Circle firm and teaching himself to code in order to set up accessible travel startup, Accomable. When Airbnb acquired Accomable in 2017, Srin joined the San Francisco office. His team use technology to put accessibility at the heart of the Airbnb experience, such as replacing the old ‘wheelchair accessible’ search filter with 27 accessibility filters, making it easier for guests to find homes that fit with their individual needs. Srin works flexibly to accommodate his health condition (SMA Type II). He is a high-profile public speaker who has raised disability and accessibility issues at forums including the United Nations, Rio Paralympics and the Tech Inclusion Summit.

Mike Sharrock - CEO British Paralympic Association, previously an international senior executive at BP and leadership coach

Mike Sharrock is the Chief Executive of the British Paralympic Association (BPA). Mike held a 30-year international business career with BP, which included roles as oil director Vietnam, retail director Netherlands and Managing Director Benelux. He led BP’s tier 1 partnership with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and with the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Since leaving BP, Mike has been working as a qualified executive coach with leading institutions and businesses including the International Paralympic Committee.

Toby Mildon - Diversity and Inclusion Architect and founder of Mildon, previously D&I manager at Deloitte and BBC

Toby Mildon is a Diversity & Inclusion Architect and founder of Mildon, a consultancy and advisory business. Toby works with businesses to re-engineer processes and systems to minimize the impact of bias and build a culture of inclusion. Prior to setting up his business, Toby worked as an in-house diversity and inclusion manager at the BBC and Deloitte.

Caroline Casey - Founder & Creator of The Valuable 500 and award-winning social entrepreneur

Caroline Casey is an award-winning social entrepreneur. Committed to building a global movement on inclusive business for the 1.3 billion people in the world with a disability, over the past two decades she has set up several organizations and initiatives centered on disability business inclusion. Caroline is also a TED speaker, Ashoka Fellow, Eisenhower Fellow, a past advisor for the Clinton Global Initiative, a One Young World Counsellor and is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
