Witt/Kieffer's Sandy Williams Honored by Sloan MHA Program

Witt/Kieffer is pleased to announce that Alexander “Sandy” Williams, Of Counsel Advisor and former senior partner with the firm, has been honored with the 2018 Alumni Achievement Award through Cornell University’s Sloan Program in Health Administration. A 1963 Sloan graduate, Williams was recognized for his body of work over three phases in his career: as a distinguished hospital administrator, as an administrator for the American Hospital Association, and lastly as a partner and executive search consultant with Witt/Kieffer for more than 25 years. Williams also served as a peace corps volunteer in Liberia upon graduating from Sloan.

“Sandy has accomplished so much in his career and, in particular, has made such a positive, lasting imprint upon Witt/Kieffer,” noted Witt/Kieffer president and CEO Andrew P. Chastain. “He has guided recruitments for our most important clients in healthcare and academic medicine, built relationships that have lasted decades, and established standards of excellence for the rest of our firm to follow. He has been a model and mentor to me and so many others.”

“This recognition by Sloan is evidence of Sandy’s lifelong passion for learning, for giving back, and for developing others,” added Paul W.H. Bohne, managing partner and leader of the Witt/Kieffer Healthcare practice. “I applaud the significant work he has done advancing the careers of so many people—friends and colleagues at Witt/Kieffer and throughout the industry, clients and executive candidates, students in healthcare administration, and more. He has always put others before himself.”

Williams received the award in a recent ceremony at Sloan. In conjunction with the award, the institution has published a brief retrospective of his career; a list of previous recipients is available on the organization’s website.
