Patrick Gray Joins Raines International; Executive Search Firm Expands Its Management Team and Expertise in Mission Critical Functions

Raines International announced that Patrick Gray has joined as a Managing Director and Head of the company’s Diversified Industrials Practice.

Mr. Gray will open and oversee the firm’s new Washington, D.C., office from which he will continue to focus on the aviation, aerospace and defense, national security, government services, packaging and engineered components industries. His background in the executive search industry, with a concentration on mission critical functions and market sectors, reinforces Raines’ unique ability to identify outstanding leaders for its clients.

“Patrick is an extremely impressive professional with excellent credentials and a unique background that will be invaluable to our clients, now and in the future,” said Mr. Dan Smith, CEO of Raines International. “His unparalleled experience recruiting leaders in times of crisis will help guide, inform and influence our practice at Raines and our growth as a firm. We are enormously fortunate to have him on our team.”

After serving in assignments worldwide as a U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, Mr. Gray founded and co-managed an investment company; consulted to an intelligence agency and worked in corporate development in the Technology sector. He began his executive search career as an Associate and rose to Client Partner with Korn Ferry. He later served as Managing Partner of Northwind Partners’ Aerospace & Defense Practice. Most recently, Mr. Gray was the Americas’ Practice Leader for Heidrick & Struggles in Aviation, Aerospace, Defense and Government Services. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1996 and earned his master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.

“I am thrilled to join Raines International and be a part of a client-focused, high energy and innovative firm,” Mr. Gray said. “I look forward to leading the Industrial Practice and continuing to focus on the Aerospace, Defense & Government Services sectors.”

Mr. Gray will collaborate with the other senior leaders of the Raines management team, including veteran advertising and marketing executive Matt Seiler and John J. Keller, who leads Raines’ Innovation Practice. Both joined Raines in 2019 in an expansion that has also included the opening of a major office in Buenos Aires in 2019, as well as an office in Chicago earlier this year.
