Buffkin/Baker Names Health Care Group Leader

Executive search firm Buffkin/Baker has tapped one of its Washington-based partners to lead its health care provider practice.
 
Brenda Doherty has been with Buffkin/Baker and its predecessors since 2011. She has 10 years of experience recruiting senior leaders for hospitals, health care systems, long-term care facilities and senior living centers. Before joining Buffkin/Baker, she was a partner at global firm Korn/Ferry International as well as a managing director at the Charleston Group, a boutique firm specializing in health care.

Before entering the search business, Doherty was a senior vice president at what is now Tenet Healthcare, where she was responsible for a contract management division that started and oversaw the operations of specialty units in hospitals, and as an operations VP at what became Emeritus Senior Living, which was acquired by Brookdale Senior Living three years ago.
 
Buffkin and his team have had a busy 2017, first merging with an Atlanta firm and then beefing up their entertainment and media book of business with two other deals. The firm now has offices in Nashville (Brentwood), Atlanta, Chicago, New York, the Carolinas and Washington, D.C.
