Ethan Birchard
As an experienced digital strategy leader, Ethan combines his technology background with extensive marketing and operations experience to oversee all technology platforms, vendor relationships, and functions at the AESC, along with many aspects of internal operations, including BlueSteps, and aspects of online marketing.
Before joining the AESC in January 2009, Ethan spent six years running Quaker Consulting, a web design, development and search marketing consultancy focused on small business, education and not-for-profit clients. Prior to that, Ethan spent several years working as a consultant and software developer in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley, working with a range of start-up clients in the finance, insurance and event planning industries.
Ethan holds a dual degree in Computer Science and English from Amherst College. He speaks conversational Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese. He has lived in China, Guatemala, Ireland, and the United States. Ethan likes to run marathons and write fiction.
