Heidrick & Struggles: Achieving Corporate Success

Heidrick & Struggles has published a piece, based off of research from Colin Price and Sharon Toye’s book, “Accelerating Performance,” that looks at the defining factors of success within the corporate world and how companies are accelerating growth and profit. The authors explain that, based off of the analysis done, a company’s performance within a specific industry or geographic area are more important than the company’s overall position across all industries and geographic markets.

The article also looks at how changes are implemented within companies who are growing. The authors suggest the following strategies for companies to maintain acceleration:

  • Make long-term commitments as well as small bets
  • Balance speed and quality
  • Provide access to the right information
  • Prepare for changing circumstances
