Russell Reynolds Associates: The Rise of Responsibility on UK Cultural Boards

Russell Reynolds Associates examined the boards of directors of 10 leading performing arts institutions and 10 leading museums in the UK to look at how cultural boards are fulfilling their roles of safeguarding culture. The report cites how cultural boards are now more often taking over responsibility for fulfilling an organization’s mission. Notable findings in the article include:

  • 74% of arts non-executive directors have no C-suite experience.
  • Between only 4% - 8% of directors in the museum and performing arts board had previous digital experience.
