AESC Brings the Executive Research Revolution to New York

Research teams from top executive search firms will gather for cutting-edge techniques on high-stakes executive talent acquisition

Executive research teams from leading executive search and leadership advisory firms in the US and beyond will convene for AESC's Executive Research Forum on June 19, 2018 at New York City’s Penn Club.

Attaining a firm grasp of the rapidly changing client landscape and where the executive search profession is headed as a result is crucial for researchers to deliver the best results for their clients. AESC's Forum is designed to provide both innovative and tangible insights on the evolving role of the researcher, pertinent guidance on legislation, and diverse approaches in navigating the talent pool to distinguish good candidates from the best.

AESC CEO, Karen Greenbaum, will open the event sharing up-to-the-minute insights on the current state of the executive search and leadership consulting profession in an era of widespread change. AESC Managing Director, Patrick Rooney, will follow with an analysis of the inaugural “AESC Global Executive Research Survey” which takes a deep dive into the role of today’s researcher and the elements required for maximum impact. AESC Managing Director, Brian Glade, will then moderate a panel discussion with Eric Moskowitz, Senior Director of Market Intelligence at Korn Ferry; Heather Joiner, Research Associate at Pearson Partners International; and Daniel Smith, Managing Director and COO at Raines International on the future of the profession and what it means for today’s researcher.

Executive researchers run through a diverse array of hurdles when initiating everyday professional conversations. Improvisation comedian and actor David Dritsas will lead participants through a fun, interactive session using techniques from improvisation methods. Improv can help executive researchers learn new ways to approach their communication skills, from better active listening to creative thinking and brainstorming in the moment.

Conni LaDouceur, President and Chief Sourcing Strategist at EQC Talent Sourcing Experts, will share the most efficient online talent sourcing strategies. LaDouceur will then dissect actual phone calls with the greatest impact, those that engage the most qualified talent, not just the most easily findable.

With new privacy regulations in motion, there are many questions around what executive search firms are now allowed to ask of candidates and how they ask it. Courtney Stieber, Associate at legal firm Seyfarth Shaw, will provide researchers constructive guidance on best practices.

In the past 15 years, internet recruiting has been dominated by professional networking websites, but changes are taking place in online candidate behavior and executive researchers need to know how this is going to impact their work. Kevin Crews of AIRS will explore changes with professional networking sites and how to more easily source off the beaten path candidates.

AESC President and CEO, Karen Greenbaum commented: “AESC Forums provide the cutting-edge techniques for executive research success in today's high-speed, high-stakes environment. Researchers accelerate their skills by exploring up-to-the-minute new tools and approaches, while gaining a deeper understanding of today's lightning-fast business climate and how that impacts our profession.”

AESC's event is sponsored by AESC partners AIRS, The Cluen Corporation, Execuquest, Invenias, and Mintz Group. To learn more about AESC's Executive Research Forum, or to register, please visit the AESC website at www.aesc.org.
