Alder Koten Adds New Senior Advisor

Richard Spitzer has joined Alder Koten as a senior advisor. He will collaborate in executive search work focused on board members, C-level executives, and senior management roles. Richard's executive search experience includes serving as the global managing partner for Heidrick & Struggles Automotive Practice. He will collaborate in executive search work focused on board members, C-level executives, and senior management roles.

Richard’s executive search experience includes serving as the global managing partner for Heidrick & Struggles Automotive Practice. His management consulting career has been with blue-chip firms, most recently Accenture, where he was the Global Managing Partner of the Automotive and Industrial Equipment Sectors.

Previously, Richard was Vice President and leader in the Automotive Practice at A.T. Kearney. While there, he led and counseled several regional and global projects for clients in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Projects included acquisition planning and implementation, structural cost reduction, business process offshoring, as well as direct and indirect material cost reduction.

Prior experience includes Principal in the Operations Management Group at Booz Allen & Hamilton, specializing in Energy and Chemicals, and also co-authored a book entitled, “Creating the High-Performance International Petroleum Company”. Throughout his career, Richard has been published in various business magazines on the topics of globalization, operations management, and technology and is a frequent media contributor, having appeared on several TV and radio outlets discussing the state of the automotive industry. In 2005, he was asked to moderate the World Economic Forum Automotive Roundtable in Beijing, China. In 2006, he was named to the “Top 25 Consultants” by Consulting Magazine.

Richard is founder and Managing Principal of the Spitzer Group LLC. He holds a bachelor of science with honors, in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi, as well an master's degree in Business Administration and Finance with valedictorian honors, from Southern Methodist University.
