Title: Beyond the Resumé: The Science Behind Executive Leadership Success in India

Summary: This session reframes how we think about executive leadership in India, challenging assumptions and replacing them with evidence about what truly drives leadership effectiveness at scale. Drawing on global personality and leadership data, the presentation explores the tension between leadership emergence and leadiorship performance, revealing how bias, familiarity, and contextual expectations shape who rises to the top—often at the expense of long-term outcomes. Set against India’s rapid economic growth, global integration, and increasingly mobile talent pool, the session argues for a shift from intuition led selection to data driven leadership decisions, and from appointing leaders who look right to developing leaders who can build resilient, high performing organisations for the future.
